Sustainability and Poverty (HL)

The issues of sustainability and poverty are quite interconnected. 

• Through sustainable development (social, economic, environmental), poverty could potentially be eradicated

• A reduction in poverty is an important factor in ensuring sustainable development

• As a result, the very first Sustainable Development Goal is "No Poverty"

• Most people in absolute poverty rely on the primary sector (farming, mining, fishing, etc.), which can fluctuate heavily based on seasons, and can work against sustainable development goals.

The syllabus is actually very vague about what this subtopic actually entails. Just be able to explain the link between sustainability and poverty, I guess?
