You are expected to be able to explain/analyze (AO2) and draw (AO4) movements and shifts on the demand curve (SL+HL)
Movements along the demand curve are caused by price only. It is either a contraction or expansion. →
Contraction means lower quantity demanded because of higher price. Demand goes up-left on the curve.
Expansion means higher quantity demanded because of lower price. Demand goes down-right on the curve.
Shifts of the demand curve are caused by one or multiple non-price determinants of demand. It is either leftwards or rightwards. →
Leftwards shifts are decreases in demand caused by unfavorable non-price events.
Rightwards shifts are increases in demand caused by favorable non-price events.
